NZ Hot Rod Magazine - Jason Beca

Early this year I was commissioned by NZ Hot Rod magazine for an article on Kapiti Coast artist, Jason Beca.

Jason has made a handful of controversial art pieces over the past few years such as a replica Tardis bed from Doctor Who to a gallery worthy sex chair. This time Jason has taken a step in a slightly different direction creating signs that look as though they've been sitting in a workshop for the past 50's years. His distressing skills looks so genuine, it could easily be mistaken for an original piece.

Taking a day off from real estate photography was pleasantly welcomed. It also meant I had to adjust my strategy from photographing 3D environments to a flat 2D object, not something that sounds fairly difficult but with property photography engrained in my head it was nice to take a step back and approach something different.
